WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment)

World Wrestling Entertainment, or WWE, is an American entertainment company that focuses on professional wrestling. The organization was founded in the 1950s and continues to be one of the most recognized promotion companies in the world.

WWE focuses on the entertainment aspect of wrestling. The project began with professional wrestlers adopting a new style, called Slam Bang Western-Style Wrestling, which was more appealing to the audience because it involved more active movement and less mat-grappling. Over several decades, the company grew and developed into an all-out entertainment company as opposed to a wrestling federation.

The WWE no longer promotes professional wrestlers. Instead, the wrestlers are more like performers or actors, and they are referred to as “superstars.” WWE shows feature high-energy matches that follow an intended plot, and the superstars are followed throughout a “season” with many matches and a continuing storyline. Generally, WWE events feature colorful commentary, energetic audiences, and unique characters that provide great entertainment for viewers.
