Wax Tailor is the stage name of French DJ and producer Jean-Christophe Le Saoût. Born in 1975 in Vernon, France, Wax Tailor got his start as a radio host, then created the rap group La Formule and the record label Lab’Oratoire in the 90s. His DJ work as Wax Tailor started in 2001 with a remix of a Looptroop and La Formule song. Wax Tailor’s first album, Tales of the Forgotten Melodies, was released in 2005 and mixed genres like hip-hop and trip-hop with audio samples from films. Tailor has since released three more studio albums, Hope & Sorry, his biggest seller In the Mood for Love, and Dusty Rainbow from the Dark. Tailor's biggest single to date is the 2009 song “This Train/Leave It.” Wax Tailor has collaborated with artists including The Others, Charlotte Savary, and A State of Mind and has won an Independent Music Award for best Dance/Electronica album for Hope & Sorrow.
