A pop rock band formed in San Francisco, California, Train stormed onto the music scene with its self-produced eponymous debut album in 1998. The album contained hit singles “Free,” “I Am,” and “Meet Virginia,” which hit the second spot on the Adult Top 40 in America. Train eventually reached number one on the Heatseekers chart.
The band’s song “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” from its second album, Drops of Jupiter, won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song. The album debuted at number six in the U.S. upon its release and was certified twice platinum by both the RIAA in the U.S. and CRIA in Canada. “She’s on Fire,” the record’s second single, eventually reached number twenty-one on the Adult Top 40 chart.
Train performances are characterized by the energy brought to the show by the band’s frontman, Pat Monahan, who never fails to get the crowds singing along to catchy favorites like 2009’s “Hey, Soul Sister.”
In 2012, Train released its sixth studio album, California 37, to mixed critical reviews, but reached the expected level of commercial success by selling seventy-six thousand copies in its first week.
Don’t forget to purchase your Train tickets as soon as they become available for a show near you, because they’re sure to sell out quickly.
