Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Tonight Alive is keeping the pop punk dream of the early 2000s going with its spunky and infectious brand of high-energy rock and roll. Fronted by adorable blonde sneerer Jenna Macdougal and similar to big-name acts like Paramore and Flyleaf, the band has broken out of its home country and is now taking the world by storm.
After a few years of playing around the Sydney bar and club circuit, the band was contacted by producer Mark Trombino, who flew Tonight Alive out to LA to record its debut full-length album What Are You So Scared Of? Shortly afterwards, Tonight Alive began touring the U.S., taking part in big festivals like Bamboozle.
A Tonight Alive show is a modern-day punk bacchanal, with more lip piercings and designer skate sneakers than the world’s biggest food court. Very much a “scene band,” Tonight Alive draws a hodgepodge of good-natured punkers, semi-gangsters, and suburbanite bad boys who want to dance their hearts out.
With boundless energy, unadulterated positivity, and a penchant for the angsty, Tonight Alive continues to infiltrate bedrooms and stereos everywhere, reminding punkers that it’s not all heartbreak and depression, and that music can save even the most lost soul.
