Harvard University graduate Tom Morello is best known as a guitarist in the bands Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, but is a versatile performer who also formed more acoustic groups like the Nightwatchman (a folk band) and Street Sweeper Social Club.
Morello played a huge role in the success of Rage Against the Machine and the group sold over 16 million albums worldwide as audiences took to its combination of heavy metal and rap. Similarly, Morello helped Audioslave achieve critical acclaim and commercial success with its eponymous debut album that achieved triple platinum status.
In 2003, Morello used the inspiration from Bob Dylan’s early work and Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska to create his own socially conscious alter ego, the Nightwatchman. Morello began playing – and singing for the first time – at various coffee houses in California as the Nightwatchman and eventually joined the 2004 Tell Us the Truth tour, which was a series of concerts to raise awareness for that year’s U.S. Presidential Election. As the Nightwatchman, Morello released four albums – One Man Revolution, The Fabled City, Union Town, and World Wide Rebel Songs – that focus on workers and union rights.
Tom Morello performances are hand-clapping and foot-stomping events. Buy your Tom Morello tickets before they sell out!
