Deepak Apr 23, 2013 The Tallest Man on Earth aka Kristian Matsson is a genius in artistic terms. He is a singer songwriter from Sweden and boy he is the best thing out of Sweden since ABBA, Ace of Base and Eagle Eye Cherry. He plays acoustic guitar most of the time but for some strange reason, that actually suits him the best. I think he is one of the few artists whose album I would listen to without skipping any song. His music is just good. My favorite songs by him are "Love is all", "The Gardener", "To just grow away", "King of Spain", "Where do my Bluebird fly" etc. I would definitely like to see him live and I recommend his music to anybody who appreciates good folk music!
Chris Morgan Oct 1, 2012 The Tallest Man on Earth is Kristian Matsson. He is Swedish and further confirms Sweden as the the best Scandanavian country even if he sings about wanting to be the 'King of Spain' in one of my favorite tracks. I discovered TTMOE on KCRW here in LA and have loved going back to his older stuff and awaiting the new stuff. "Sometimes the blues is just a passing bird, why can't that always be" is one of my favorite lyrics from the song The Dreamer from a 5 song EP. Kids on the Run from The Wild Hunt is an amazing album closer best enjoyed after a focused listening session for the whole album. Matsson mostly plays acoustic guitar and creates a very full sound and rhythm for just one guy but occasionally dabbles in the electric when the mood and lyrics are right. His music is consistently great, I have a hard time recommending any one of his full length albums over another and he appeals to a broad range of listeners. I really want to see him live next time he comes to town.
