Testament is a Metallica-influenced thrash metal band from the San Francisco Bay Area who came to prominence with the release of their hard-hitting debut album The Legacy in 1987. Legacy gained Testament access to thrash metal’s inner circle and the band picked up more fans after they went on tour of America and Europe with Anthrax.
Testament released their second album, The New Order, in 1988 and it became the band’s first album to enter the Billboard 200, peaking at number 136 three months after its release. The album featured crowd favorites “Into the Pit,” “The Preacher,” “The New Order,” and “Trial By Fire.”
The band followed up the success of Order with their third album, Practice What You Preach, which featured a music video (for the song “The Ballad”) that received extended MTV airplay. The popularity of “The Ballad” and the strength of the album’s other singles propelled Preach to number 77 on the Billboard 200.
Testament performances are known for their mixture of power, aggression, and surprising melodic reach. The band’s endurance has led to the creation of ten studio albums, including 2012’s Dark Roots of Earth.
Get your Testament tickets as soon as possible, as you don’t want to miss your chance to see one of the best thrash metal bands around.
