Shy'M

Born Tamara Marthe in Trappes, outside of Paris in 1985, the artist known Shy’m is a French pop singer who first became famous with the release of her debut album Mes fantaisies in 2006. The album went platinum and included the hit singles “Femme de couleur”, “Victoire”, “Oublie-moi”, and “Rêves d'enfants”. Shy’m’s musical style ranges from pop and R&B to electropop and soul.

Shy’m’s second album Reflets (2008) only went gold but she rebounded with Prendre l’air in 2010 which went triple platinum with hit singles “Je sais”, “Je suis moi”, Prendre l’air”, “Tourne”, and “En apesanteur”.

Her most recent album, Caméléon (2012), also went platinum and features hit single “On se fout de nous”.

Shy’m’s name is a portmanteau of shy and Martinique which she borrowed from her father’s French Caribbean upbringing on the island of Martinique. Shy’m achieved more international fame from wearing a scandalous evening gown to the NRJ Music Awards in 2012 where she brought home the award for Francophone Female Artist of the Year.
