Rapper Sammy Adams, whose real name is Samuel Adams Wisner, was born in 1987 in Boston. Though he got his musical start with the piano, Adams started composing his own beats in high school. As a student at Hobart and William College and then Trinity College, Adams played varsity soccer and recorded music on his laptop. In 2010, he remixed Asher Roth’s “I Love College,” titled it “I Hate College (Remix)” and released it on YouTube, garnering over six million views. Adams worked with his online popularity, releasing songs like “Opening Day,” “Rollin’,” and a “Poker Face” remix to great fan reaction. His first EP, Boston’s Boy, released in 2010 and reached #1 on iTunes. After signing with RCA Records in 2011, Adams found mainstream success with the single “Only One,” which appeared in an AT&T commercial. Since 2010, he has released four mixtapes and collaborated with artists like G. Curtis and Taylor Swift. Adams’s fan base is largely a college crowd, and he has appeared on the TV show 90210 and was mentioned in Teen Vogue.
