Pete Tong

Widely considered the godfather of electronic music, Pete Tong is an English DJ who works for BBC Radio 1 and hosts Essential Mix and Essential Selections. Tong first appeared on the radio in the 1970s on a station called Radio Invicta, which was Europe’s first soul station, and stayed with the company until 1988.

In addition to being one of the most popular radio personalities in England, Europe, and around the world, Tong is one of Ole Britannia’s most recognizable house DJs. From 2003 to 2007, Pete Tong performances at Pacha nightclub in Ibiza drew guests from all over the world.

Tong was instrumental in the founding of the International Music Summit, a three-day annual dance music conference that takes place in Ibiza.
