Niki and the Dove

Niki and the Dove – which consists of Malin Dahlström (vocals), Gustaf Karlöf (keyboards) and Magnus Boqvist (drums) – are a Swedish indietronica group formed in 2010 in Stockholm. The group finished fifth in BBC’s Sound of 2012 poll and won the 2013 European Border Breakers Award, (which honors the best new music acts in Europe. In their young career, Niki and the Dove have released one studio album titled Instinct and cracked the top 150 on the UK singles chart with “DJ, Ease My Mind.”

Niki and the Dove’s music is a blend of electronica, dance sounds, R&B, and synth-pop, and they consider themselves a soul band, not an electronic band. The members of Niki and the Dove do not like to discuss their musical influences, but rather cite other art forms like paintings, poetry, and books as important influences.

The band is co-signed by Sub Pop and Mercury Records and has already made seven music videos. They continue to build upon the success and critical acclaim of Instinct and tour the world, exposing new audiences to their shadowy electronic pop.
