Nervo Bio

Nervo

Nervo is a songwriting/DJ duo made up of twins Miriam and Olivia Nervo, who were born in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia, where they were raised. They go by the nicknames “Mim” and “Liv.”

Starting out as models and then embarking on a career in songwriting, the sisters got their break with the single, "Negotiate with Love," a song written for British pop singer Rachel Stevens, which reached No. 10 on the U.K. music charts in 2005. Nervo continued to write songs for artists including Kesha, Richard Grey, Ashley Tisdale, and the Pussycat Dolls. Having remixed the likes of Katy Perry, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Cobra Starship, Nervo’s fan base has grown to crave the duo’s house-techno DJ stylings, earning them worldwide popularity with their loud, in-your-face beats.

The next big break for Nervo came when the two co-wrote "When Love Takes Over" for David Guetta and Kelly Rowland, which went on to take the top position on music charts around the world in 2009. The song also nabbed a Grammy Award.

In 2010, the Nervo club single "This Kind Of Love" went on the take the No. 1 spot on the world club charts, No. 2 on the Music Week club charts, and No. 6 on the Music Week pop charts. That year Nervo also worked on albums for Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Cheryl Cole, Armin Van Buuren, and others.

The next year, Nervo wrote "We're All No One" featuring Afrojack and Steve Aoki, which reached No. 1 on the U.K. club charts. The sisters also wrote "Night of Your Life," performed by Jennifer Hudson on David Guetta's new album Nothing but the Beat.

Nervo live shows take place at festivals all over the world, including Pacha in Ibiza, Belgium's Tomorrowland, The Day After in Panama City, Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Alive Music Festival in Mexico, Creamfields in England, and more.

With their popularity only growing, Nervo tickets are sure to go fast. Be sure to check out Nervo tour dates to see if these dynamic DJs are playing at a venue near you!

I went to see Nervo this weekend at Create Nightclub in Hollywood, both my first time at that club and first time seeing them perform live. The set they played was great, full of edgy house and electro that came hard without being overly abrasive as some DJs tend to play. The dance floor definitely kept going relentlessly the whole night, and the twins seemed very charismatic on stage, always smiling, interacting with the crowd, and having a lot of fun as they played. Create actually oversold for Nervo by at least a few hundred people, which can obviously be taken as a sign of poor planning (maybe a one-time fluke), but also shows how popular Nervo is with the EDM crowd. Luckily, I was on the Insomniac VIP list and was able to bypass the masses of waiting people, but many demanding fans who paid to see them weren't able to get into the club at all since it was full beyond capacity. Next time the girls are in LA, definitely going to seek out their show -- I had a blast.
