Nikki Laureola Aug 17, 2012 Emily Haines was my hero before I knew I needed one. I've seen Metric live three times now, and she is always fabulous. Her high energy engages the audience, but she still has an apathetic enough stance to not lose any credibility as a hands-down rock star. Plus she's always wearing something super shiny. You never really know what they're going to play either. They have such a huge catalog of hits. Personally, I think seeing them play anything off Fantasies will completely make your life. But I did once catch Emily Haines acoustic at a free show, and she sang Anthems (of a Seventeen Year Old Girl) from the Broken Social Scene days. Amazing.
