Justin Bieber Bio

Justin Bieber

To his tween base and diehard “Beliebers” of all ages, Justin Bieber is the ultimate pop star. With more than 15 million albums sold since his debut and millions of loyal fans, the young artist has already taken the world by storm. Born in Ontario, Canada, in 1994, the self-taught musician was discovered on YouTube in 2008 before meeting Usher and making it big.

With the debut of My World in 2009, Bieber shot to international fame. The album went platinum in the US and was the first in history to have seven songs make the Billboard Hot 100. His hit single, “Baby” hit the top ten in charts all around the world and its video won the MTV Music Video Award for Best New Artist in 2010. His third album Believe debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and was seen as a turn away from his teen pop roots and towards a more mature pop and R&B sound.

Justin Bieber has won over the hearts of the most dedicated fans in the world. The young pop star is already one of the richest, and with more than 40 million Twitter followers, Forbes placed him third on their 2012 list of the most powerful celebrities in the world. Seeing Justin Bieber live in concert is sure to be a spectacle full of polished dance routines, chart-topping hits, and the craziest fans ecstatically screaming with “Biebermania.”

Justin Bieber's music isn't anything special. But it also isn't the worst music ever created like the "Bieber sucks" half of the world seems to claim. It serves its intended purpose of being largely substanceless pop music created for teenage girls and non-thinking music listeners who will swoon just because he's pretty. Nothing new there -- this has been going on in pop music for decades. The thing that annoys the hell out of me about Justin Bieber is NOT his music. It's childish and shallow, but it's tolerable on a surface level. The thing that makes me wish Justin Bieber would cease to exist is the worldwide media's UNDYING OBSESSION over him. Bieber has become such a stereotype and a comparative figure to seemingly every other artist that it's sickening. Check any YouTube video with a decent number of views, and I'll bet you see comments by someone saying "screw Justin Bieber, this is real music" or "__ people are Justin Bieber fans", referring to the number of dislikes on the video. Like every good artist is on one side of the spectrum, and the other must always be Justin Bieber. Yet as a constant target of paparazzi, gossip magazines, and entertainment "news", information on Justin, who he's dating, what car he's driving, where he's going, and what he eats for breakfast is force fed to the worldwide public. Justin Bieber shows up on my Yahoo front page, at the beginning of showbiz reports, and takes over the presence of all else in the entertainment world. The sad thing is that there is a brainwashed audience that reinforces this happening. I've always despised the American media's over-the-top obsession with celebrities who get more attention than their accomplishments justify (the Kardashians are right up there too), and Justin Bieber has only become that symbol to me. I don't even think about his music anymore, I just think of him as an annoying media figure whose career I want to spiral down the drain so he can fade into obscurity after the world wakes up from its delusions.

As a boy singer who rose fame by theater and YouTube videos, Justin Bieber definitely has some talent in singing. Don't believe me? Search early videos of Bieber on Youtube and see it for yourself. Given his age, he has not reached the end of her vocal development. Therefore, it is relatively hard to give a conclusive statement regarding his style. But his youth and his ability to attract women of all ages will definitely make his performances worth participating and watching. I just hope that he can write more songs and be more original other than popular.

Bieber Fever. This is what we describe the fans who love his music. I for one used to perhaps have a little sickness when he first came out with his original song “one time” and “one less lonely girl”. He was a fresh and original talented young kid with great pop music. Fast forward to current times and something happened. The kid grew up. This is normal for everybody but he tried to bring this transition to his music which in my opinion is a big mistake. His core fan base is still with young teenagers. Take a look at his music video “boyfriend”, why are there still young girls in the video for a supposedly grown up song? Bieber is a sheep in wolves clothing.

Try keeping up with the ladies as they work it to the killer beats of "Boyfriend."

I generally can’t take Justin Bieber seriously in any way whatsoever. He’s trying so hard to be a super-talented pop, R&B, and hip-hop singer, dancer, etc. but I think he’s completely average. He’s milking his initial success as much as he can and he has the teeny-boppers wrapped around his finger right now…I just hope he enjoys it as long as he can because I don’t think this ride can last too much longer. I will give him praise for two things: 1) the guy just puked on stage in the middle of his concert and kept going; and 2) well done on scoring Selena Gomez as his girlfriend…for now.
