Juanes

Juanes is a Grammy Award winning Latin music artist. Born in Columbia as Juan Esteban Aristizábal Vásquez in 1972, he grew up during the reign of the notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. The personal violence he witnessed pushed him into a lifetime of art, learning guitar and traditional Colombian music from his father at the age of 7.

From 1988 to 1998, Juanes headed the Colombian metal band Ekhymosis as their lead singer, before breaking out with his solo career in 2000. His debut album Fíjate Bien, won three Latin Grammy Awards and his blend of Latin pop with elements of traditional Colombian folk music has helped him sell over 15 million solo albums. Juanes quickly gained international fame with the 2005 single “La Camisa Negra”, which shot up to number 2 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart. With seventeen Latin Grammy Awards, Juanes has earned more Latin Grammys than any other male artist in history.

Juanes performed at the Kickoff Concert for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and was also featured in the Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. A live Juanes concert offers the chance to see the legendary Latin artist perform his energetic hits in front of packed out crowd of dancing fans.
