Born in 1981, recording artist Jonny Lang is known for a singing voice richer than his age would suggest. When just a kid, the gospel and blues singer and songwriter, who grew up in North Dakota and Minnesota, formed the band Kid Jonny Lang and The Big Bang, which independently released an album, Smokin’, when Lang was only fourteen. That album caught the attention of record executives, and A&M Records signed Lang when he was only fifteen, subsequently releasing his multiplatinum album Lie to Me in 1997. Lang's next album, Wander this World, earned him a Grammy nomination, while his 2006 gospel album, Turn Around, won him the award. A skillful guitarist, Lang has toured with acts such as The Rolling Stones, B.B. King, and Jeff Beck, and Eric Clapton has twice invited Lang to play at his Crossroads Guitar Festival. Over the years, Lang has replaced the members of his backing band and currently tours with about five members. Since 1996, Lang has released six studio albums and has toured extensively.
