Jeffrey Jerusalem is a relatively small producer at this point, but he can name RAC as one of his fans, so I'm sure it wont be so for long. A Los Angeles native, Jerusalem has such a unique style and vibe. It's obvious he knows how to recognize and create a beautiful soundscape. The cores of his songs are like a magnificent synthesizer symphony. It's truly impressive. But his build-up seems quite often to be awkward. Not clunky, exactly, but almost deliberately and delicately cacophonous. The pieces themselves are often discordant up until the point that the very last beat gets dropped, bringing the whole thing together in an unexpected and arresting way. As far as style goes, it's on the melodic side -- not too hard-hitting or difficult on the system. I saw Jeffrey Jerusalem at a Check Yo' Ponytail event in Echo Park, playing along with one hard rock, one chillwave, and one indie pop band. It was an eclectic show, and his contribution was stellar. He makes his own visualizers and plays the synthesizer live, along with singing on some tracks. He opened with "Decay," probably my favorite song of his, and closed with some ubiquitous comedy theme music. I'm pleasantly surprised to see him on this site, and I hope for the best for him.
