Sean CoyleSep 29, 2012No joke. By the time the show was over, I was covered in red wine and bathing in the stench of fresh reefer. I figured there was no way my wife would believe it all happened at a Huey Lewis concert, BUT I DON'T CARE! Yeah, yeah, Joe Cocker's almost 70 and did all his hits - - but nothing can top the awesomeness of Mr. Huey Lews and Mr. The News!!! Seriously, it was such a killer show. They played their hits. They played obscure favorites. The crowd was into it. It was GREAT!!!
I can't wait for their next trip to LA. I hope they play the Greek again because it is, BY FAR, the best concert venue in all of Los Angeles.
Chad FreetAug 17, 2012Oh...forgot to mention Jimmy Kimmel came out an played sax during one of Huey's songs.
Chad FreetAug 17, 2012Had the pleasure of seeing Huey Lewis last night at the Greek. Huey and the News sang all their famous songs...even sang "Jacob's Ladder" which I've never heard them sing live. Appropriately the crowd went crazy during "Power of Love" and there was some crazy guy in front of me who brought out an inflatable guitar just to rock out to that song. Next time, I'd prefer to see them in a more intimate setting (a la House of Blues) but it was a great to see Huey do his thing again.
