American singer-songwriter Howie Day is best known for his top-20 U.S. single “Collide,” which was featured on the popular TV shows Bones, Scrubs, Cold Case, and Grey’s Anatomy. Day began recording music back in 1998, when he released an EP that covered hot contemporary songs by the likes of the Dave Matthews Band, the Goo Goo Dolls, and Barenaked Ladies. After releasing another EP featuring all original tracks, Day gained the attention of music industry insiders and earned a showcase at the National Association for Campus Activities Convention.
Day decided to skip college and head to England, where he recorded his first hit album, and second studio album, Stop All the World Now. Day formed a full band and went on tour for Stop, which got off to a slow start but eventually hit number forty-six on the U.S. albums chart.
Over the years, Day has formed a strong fan base, and his songs have been featured in various films, TV shows, movie trailers and commercials. In 2009, Day released his latest studio album, Sound the Alarm, which reached as high as number thirty-one on the U.S. Rock Album Chart.
