(Hed) P.E.

(Hed) P.E., a.k.a. Hed PE, a.k.a. (hed Planet Earth), a.k.a. (həd) p.e. is a rapcore band from Huntington Beach, California. The rotating membership currently consists of Jared Gomes, Mawk, DJ Product © 1969, Jaxon, and Trauma, the first three of which were among the group's founding members in 1994. The band toured small venues and self-financed the release of its first EP, Church of Realities, before signing with Jive Records, with whom it released the album Hed PE in 1997. (Hed) P.E. -- the Hed stands for "higher education" -- calls its style of music G-punk, a combination of punk and gangsta rap with metal influences. The group has had a handful of Billboard-chart singles from their albums, including “Bartender,” “Blackout,” and “Suffa,” and the song “Killing Time” was featured in the film 3000 Miles to Graceland. A self-proclaimed Juggalo -- a megafan of the band Insane Clown Posse -- Gomes accompanies that band at their Psychopathic Records events.
