Flux Pavilion – legally named Joshua Steele – is an English DJ, dubstep producer, and founder of Circus Records (along with DJ Swan-E and Doctor P). Flux was named to the BBC Sound of 2012 list, which highlights the most promising new music and artists for the year ahead.
In 2011, Flux Pavilion released his most well-known single, “Bass Cannon,” which peaked at number fifty-six on the UK Singles Chart. That same year, he was placed on the Radio 1 A-List, and producer Shama “Sak Pase” Joseph sampled the Flux Pavilion track “I Can’t Stop” for his hip-hop album Watch the Throne by Jay-Z and Kanye West. The same song was also used in the video game SSX and on the viral Kony 2012 campaign.
