Fall Out Boy Bio

Fall Out Boy

A pop punk band from Chicago’s northern suburb, Wilmette, Fall Out Boy broke onto the music scene in 2003 with its first full-length studio album, Take This to Your Grave. The album, which was made for a paltry $40,000 in Madison, Wisconsin, sold over half a million units and earned a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.

The group suffered an unfortunate setback when bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz’s anxiety about creating a potent follow-up album led to a suicide attempt. After Wentz completed therapy, Fall Out Boy got back in the studio and eventually released From Under the Cork Tree in 2005. That album went on to sell over three million albums worldwide on the strength of the huge singles “Sugar, We’re Going Down” and “Dance, Dance.”

After a brief breakup in 2009, Fall Out Boy announced its reunion and subsequent tour in 2013. Fans were thrilled to find out that the fun and raucous Fall Out Boy performances they grew to love would happen again.

Fall Out Boy is the winner of Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice, Teen Choice, TMF and Kerrang! Awards and is a Grammy nominee. The group sells out wherever they go, so be sure to buy your Fall Out Boy tickets soon!

Maybe I just hang out with a bunch of pretentious 90's hipsters, but I have no respect for Fall Out Boy, and I don't know anyone who does. Their brand of pop punk is one of the most annoying genres of music ever created -- a complete bastardization of all that is punk rock, blended down to a pre-pubescent pulp and shoved down all our throats via mainstream media. And now I know all the words to "Sugar, We're Going Down." Gag. And now this "reunion" no one asked for! Honestly, Fall Out Boy, stop trying to make yourselves happen. You're not going to happen.
