Upon its formation, Dinosaur Jr. garnered widespread interest in the world of alternative rock, eventually influencing grunge rock bands of the 90s such as Nirvana and The Pixies. Founded in 1984, the group disbanded in 1997 due to artistic differences, only to reunite in 2005 to offer the same musical vibrancy. The band continues to make music to this day.
Dinosaur Jr. embodies a hybrid of soft punk and pop rock with droning vocals and heavy feedback. Its main influences are classic rock bands like The Rolling Stones, The Ramones, and The Beach Boys.
After reuniting in 2005, Dinosaur Jr. played shows all over Europe. Dinosaur Jr.'s first album in over a decade, Beyond (2007) -- which featured the single "Almost Ready" -- was met with commercial and critical success as it debuted at No. 69 on the Billboard charts. Farm (2009) reached even greater sales, debuting at No. 29 on the Billboard charts.
Dinosaur Jr.'s third album after its reunion, I Bet on Sky (2012), received praise from fans and critics. The band continues to tour all over the world.
