Cut Copy Bio

Cut Copy

Australian electronic band Cut Copy consists of Dan Whitford (vocals, keyboard, and guitar), Tim Hoey (guitar, sampler), Mitchell Scott (drums), and Ben Browning (bass guitar). In 2004, the band released its debut LP, Bright Like Neon Love, and began to tour internationally in 2005 with acts like Bloc Party, Mylo, Franz Ferdinand, and The Presets. In a short amount of time, Cut Copy concerts became well-attended bashes.

Cut Copy experienced its most commercial success with the release of 2008’s In Ghost Colours, which immediately shot up to number one on the Australian albums chart. The track “Lights and Music” was used in the video game FIFA 09 and “Far Away” was featured on the TV show Nip/Tuck.

The group has received numerous accolades in its relatively young career, having been nominated for Best Dance/Electronica Album at the 2012 Grammy Awards. The band has a rabid, dance-loving fan base, so be sure to buy your Cut Copy tickets before they sell out.
