Chris Webby

Chris Webby is a Norwalk, Connecticut native and white rapper who began rapping in sixth grade. Webby is considered one of the pioneers of the suburban rap scene and built up a large base of “ninjas” -- what Webby calls his fans -- by giving away mixtapes full of accessible party raps. Webby became instantly popular by rapping at college parties, but that all changed when he was kicked out of Hofstra University for taking part in a robbery.

After his dismissal from school, Webby dedicated himself to the mixtape game and was soon compared to contemporaries Machine Gun Kelly and Mac Miller. There Goes the Neighborhood, Webby’s first commercial album release, was critically acclaimed and saw commercial success, with tracks like “Skyline” and “What I Do” seeing great sales numbers on iTunes.

Webby says his favorite rapper of all time is Eminem, and it’s easy to hear the rap legend’s influence in Webby’s music. Webby has collaborated with many popular contemporaries like Joell Ortiz, Big K.R.I.T, and Freeway. Webby describes himself as motivated, lyrical, and goofy.
