Elie Yaffa, who goes by the stage name “Booba,” was born on December 9, 1976, in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. Beginning his career as a break-dancer, Booba soon partnered with his friend, Ali, to form the band Lunatic in 1994. However, Lunatic’s controversial lyrics doomed the band and they only produced one, unsuccessful album together. After Lunatic broke up, Booba went on to pursue a solo career and released his debut album, Temps mort, in 2002, which received extremely positive reactions. Booba responded with three other albums and he has become the most legally-downloaded French artist in the country’s history, so check for Booba tickets soon to see the legend himself!
