Born in 1975 in Savannah, Georgia as Antwan André Patton, Big Boi is a mainstream rapper known best for being one of the two members of Outkast, alongside André 3000. Big Boi started his music career in 1991, officially breaking onto the scene with Outkast’s debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.
In his time with Outkast, Big Boi participated in six studio albums, all of which peaked at #20 or higher on the Billboard Top 100, with the combo album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below reaching #1 on the chart and going 11x platinum in America. In addition to Outkast’s album success, the duo also released fifteen singles that reached the Billboard Top 100, with the most notable being the #1 hits “Ms. Jackson,” “Hey Ya!,” and “The Way You Move.”
Big Boi announced his plans for a solo career in 2007, finally releasing his debut solo album in 2010, entitled Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. This album went on to chart at #3 on Billboard’s Top 100 and featured the hit song “Shutterbug.” Big Boi continues to produce new music and often makes guest appearances on other artist’s tracks. Big Boi shows feature a mix of songs from his solo career as well as hits from the Outkast catalogue. Tickets to Big Boi concerts are relatively inexpensive and fairly easy to find.
