nlaureolaAug 31, 2012The only Beck show I have under my belt was one at the Hollywood Bowl, which is built to show off its acts in a big way. The bands that went on before him (Spoon and MGMT) did a really great job, and set it up perfectly. But I have to admit that at first I was worried that one guy wouldn't be enough to fill the space. Of course, he brought back up. There was an entire orchestra, choir, light show, all those eclectic touches that make Beck so... Beck. All the experimental elements of his music really lend themselves to such an expansive venue. My only complaint would be that for the most part, people stayed in their seats. That's amphitheatre venues for you. But when it's not a completely packed show, the Hollywood Bowl is actually a little lax with their seating and will let you sit anywhere in your section if the seats are open. So we got a little closer, into an area with more people, and had a great time.
Beck will be headlining Montreal's Osheaga Festival on Saturday, August 3rd. Single Day Tickets are now on sale: http://t.co/cQ4tz8jqe3
