Bassnectar

Born Lorin Ashton in Santa Cruz, California in 1977, Bassnectar is an electronic musician who is best known for his remixes and collaborations with mainstream artists, as well as his epic live shows. Rising to notoriety in 2002 when he officially became Bassnectar, Lorin Ashton has been an outspoken proponent of free press and anti-corporation causes, using his music to promote his ideals. Between 2011 and 2012, Bassnectar raised over $350,000 for charities related to these causes and earned himself a loyal following of fans that are known as “Bass Heads.”

Since 2001, Bassnectar has released over 10 studio albums along with countless singles, EPs, and mixtapes, making him well known to anyone who is familiar of electronic music. Two of his albums, Vava Voom and Freestyle reached the Billboard Top 100 chart, with Vava Voom reaching as high as #34 album in the US. Bassnectar has collaborated with big names like Lupe Fiasco, Nelly Furtado and Ellie Goulding among others. Despite his commercial success, Bassnectar is a live performer at heart and has played at most of the major music festivals in America as well as across the world.
