Best known for his viral single "Harlem Shake," Baauer is the pioneering producer of electro-trap, a genre that integrates hip-hop and EDM with a heavy bass. In a world of young kids trying to mimic Skrillex and Knife Party on their MacBooks, Baauer's beats bring a refreshing take on techno/dubstep. At Baauer concerts, expect to see a crowd of edgy hipsters attempting to comprehend the ingenious innovation he manifests when crafting these rhythms.
Baauer's debut EP Dum Dum (2012) did not achieve commercial success until the featured song, "Harlem Shake," went viral in 2013, a success that led to a rapid series of homemade dance videos set to the soundtrack of Baauer's song.
Baauer's other singles, "Samurai," "Iced Up" featuring BHB, and "Higher" featuring Just Blaze, also gained him notoriety among indie music fans. Despite his young age, Baauer soon began touring at major festivals and venues all over the world.
