Humboldt Park Information

Humboldt Park - Park in Chicago.

Humboldt Park, nestled into the eponymous neighborhood in Chicago, is a 207 acre green space filled with trails and even two lagoons connected by a man-made river. It was opened all the way back in 1877, is on the National Register of Historic Places, and the iconic Humboldt Park Stables and Receptory was inaugurated as a Chicago landmark in 2008.

The park is currently a staple of the local Puerto Rican community, and recently leased the Stables to house the Institute of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture. The park also features multiple gymnasiums, soccer fields, recreational and youth sports programs, and even an inland beach for locals to enjoy. Events at Humboldt Park include free outdoor movie screenings, concerts, and holiday celebrations.

The Always Cultivating Culture
Tyler W. Feb 12, 2013
If I had to summarize Humboltd Park into a quote, itd be one in a Lana del Rey song. A community, filled with culture, that stretches yonder. That is, beyond the races. The community thrives off of keeping young and older talentend artists captivated and always pushing them and stomacs filled with beautiful food. It has grown out of the black and white age into a wonderland with a boastfulness kaliedoscope of colors spirted, and pastels that sparkles around you. The area is truly a gem, and almost to close to a community off your favorite neighborhood televeision show. I myself would choose Gulla Gullah Island, based off the illustrious sites, but one would have to travel there to choose for themselves. The colonial house structures, almost like tall towers will always remind you that you are protectd. Humboltd Park, or whatever trinket nickname given by the peoples residing there give it is truly a memorable place and one to keep on your sites to see when you come down to Chicago, Illinois.
