Are you looking for great things to do outdoors in Chicago? The good news is that there is such a wide-variety of outdoor activities that it would be hard to choose between all of them. The bad news – it’s really, really windy.
Outdoor activities in Chicago take place in tons of great parks, beaches, and throughout the streets of this massive city. If you’re looking for some green space, don’t pass up on Lincoln Park, Millennium Park or Grant Park. Between the three of them there is no shortage of jogging and biking paths, picnic spaces, outdoor eateries, and sunbathing spots.
If you’re looking for a little beach action – don’t miss out on North Avenue Beach or Oak Street Beach where volleyball, swimming, and sun-tanning are all full time activities.
If you want to find great outdoor events in Chicago, you don’t have to look that far either. For music there’s Lollapalooza, Pitchfork Music Festival, and the Chicago Blues and Chicago Jazz Festivals. For food, there’s Taste of Chicago, which is the world’s largest food festival. And for sports, there’s the Chicago Marathon.
Regardless of what you’re looking to do, there are great outdoor activities and events all over the city for you to choose from. Just make sure to hold on to your hat.
