Greenhouse Theater Center Information

Located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, the Greenhouse Theater Center hosts a rotating roster of theater companies. The center is devoted to nurturing small and mid-sized theater companies, letting them rent stage space with all the miscellaneous necessities such as a box office, lighting equipment, and ushers. Up to four productions can run at once, with two mainstages (195 seats each) and two studio stages (60 seats each).

Most productions at the Greenhouse Theater Center run for about six weeks. Other shows at Greenhouse Theater Center are one-shot performances on off nights, and some theater companies are regular residents. Experimental theater and cabaret shows are popular tenants of the space. The small and mid-sized companies that rent space at the Greenhouse Theater Center tend to produce little-known shows, usually ones penned by local up-and-coming scribes. As a result, ticket prices are usually low. Greenhouse Theater Center tickets are handled through the venue’s box office or online brokers.

The two-story Greenhouse Theater Center has a bar on each level with snacks, soda, beer, wine, and spirits.
