Allstate Arena Information

Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL is home to several college, developmental, and professional sports teams, and it also serves as a large-scale concert hall.

Originally named the Rosemont Horizon upon its opening in 1980, Allstate Arena has been home to over a dozen sports teams, including the WNBA team Chicago Sky, the DePaul men’s basketball team, and the Chicago Rush of the AFL. Allstate Arena is also Chicago’s foremost WWE venue, and in 2008 the Arena hosted UFC 90, the first Ultimate Fighting Championship in the state of Illinois.

With a seating capacity of up to 18,500 people, Allstate Arena has also emerged as one of Chicago’s premier large-scale concert venues. Since Fleetwood Mac played the arena’s inaugural event in 1980, concerts at Allstate Arena have varied from the Rolling Stones and Green Day to Justin Timberlake and LMFAO.

Allstate Arena was initially intended to be the home of the World Hockey Association’s Chicago Cougers, but when the franchise folded before the venue was built, Rosemont signed a contract with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus to help cover their debt.

A fun, unforgettable experience!

I have never been disappointed with my experiences at the Allstate Arena. It is truly amazing how spacious the arena is with how much seating. It is so much fun to be in a room with so many people all interested in what you're watching. The security at all of the events I have been to have been extremely helpful. They do a great job of getting cars out of the parking lot as fast as possible, which is a huge plus! Definitely reccomend an event at this arena.
Great performances!

I've been to the Allstate Arena a few times within the last year for different performances and I have never been disappointed. The arena itself is a good size for performances so that people who have seats way in the back can feel like no seat is truely a bad seat (and I've been in those far back seats here to know!). My sister and I went to the Backstreet Boys/New Kids on the Block concert here and were way in the back but had probably one of the best times we've ever had at a show. The only bad thing I would say about the place is the parking and getting out afterwards but that is the way it goes when you get a lot of people in one area and it's late at night! Overall, the staff were friendly, seemed like they wanted to be there and were knowledgeable and could answer pretty much any question. It's a great venue for concerts and other shows in the midwest and I would definitely recommend it over some of the others in and around Chicago.
Awesome place with awesome music!

The Allstate Arena, is known to many here as one of the best places to hear music in the Northwest. The Stadium is huge, the parking was good, the personnel were all very friendly, and the music never stopped rocking. The Allstate Arena is a great place to go see your favorite performer.
Too Big

I suppose I've never had a bad experience at the Allstate Arena but the groups it attracts never spark my interest. If it weren't for the Sears Centre it would be the Nickelback of Chicago area venues. I will say though - When I saw Britney Spears there in 2000 my mind was absolutely blown away.
Fun Friendly Time

Allstate area is a great place to take a group of friends or family to a game or event. The atmosphere is friendly and if your cheering for the same team you will have a great time.
Nothing but good music and good atmosphere...

I have had nothing but good experiences at the Allstate. My first experience was attending a Jonas Brothers concert a few years ago. Although it was filled with nothing but teenage girls and their parents, there was no mistaking the atmosphere of the venue itself. The concert was sold out and although it is a big arena, the excitement was contagious. My next experience was going to the the Backstreet Boys/New Kids on the Block sold out concert. I felt like I was more able to enjoy the arena this time around because I was a bit older. By this time, the arena had gone through some minor construction, so the bathrooms were in better shape and more welcoming to concert goers as well as the concession stands being made to handle a heavier volume of people. Only downside, ATM and concession/Merchandise table card reader service isn't very good. The ATM had ridiculously long lines because none of the card readers at the concessions stands or the Merchandise tables could get reception. So my only advice would be to bring money in cash just incase you fancy having a soda or buying a t-shirt. Although its a nice area, its quite a way away from the city and there isn't much to do around there but go to the concert. They do have some local restaurants, but I do not recommend going to them right before a show. The places will be packed and if you took the Metra train to the concert, the walk from the restaurant to the venue is a bit far, so bring comfortable shoes! Over all it is a great place to enjoy great music and have a great time! I will definitely be back.
Nice venue, location leaves some to be desired
Nick T. Oct 31, 2012
The arena itself is fairly nice and I've scene numerous really good concerts and random shows here. Everything is up-to-date and it is hard to find a bad seat for any show, or game - if you wanna watch mediocre college basketball, or second tier hockey and football. Allstate draws a ton of big names to perform there and therefore is a popular venue for Chicagoans to see a show. The major drawback of Allstate is that its in Rosemont which is a bit of trek from the city. It is right off the Kennedy which is convenient to a point, but its kind of annoying that driving here is basically the only feasible option for many people. There is also nothing of interest in the immediate vicinity except for O'Hare, so it's basically a dead end for the night if you go to a show here.
