Chicago Cubs Info

Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs currently play baseball at Wrigley Field, which is the second oldest stadium in Major League Baseball having been built in 1914 and has a seating capacity of 41,009. The Cubs are part of the National League’s Central Division which includes other Midwest teams like the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates. Winners of multiple Pennants and World Series titles (though not since 1908), the Cubs have featured hall of famers such as Ernie Banks, Mordecai Brown, Andre Dawson, Goose Gossage, and Ryne Sandberg. Cubs tickets aren’t always easy to come by since the team sells out games in spite of its commonly bad records. Cubs games though are packed as fans continue to flock to the ivy walls of the Friendly Confines – one of the best places on the planet to watch a baseball game while comsuming a cold one on a summer day – hoping and praying that this will be the year that the team breaks their World Series drought.

I have recently gone to my first baseball game ever, and it was clear to see that the atmosphere at for baseball, especially at Wrigley Field is unlike any other sport! I was told prices for food would be ridiculous but was relieved to see that weren't as bad as I had expected them to be. Every seat in the place is considered a good seat, where it is easy to see what's going on no matter how far back you are. It was a nice feeling hearing the classic music, and everyone singing "take me out to the ball game..." was just such a great experience to be a part of. It truly is a community of people who are passionate for the same thing, and they all come together at this place that holds so much history. Wrigley Field is beautiful and I think everyone should take the time to watch the cubs play at least once!

Wrigley Field is not just a historic landmark, and must see attraction when you're in Chicago, it is also a great place to watch a game (as long as you don't have an obscured view!). There really isn't a bad seat in the whole ballpark, and food and drink prices are not that bad compared to other venues. If you get the chance definitely sit out in the bleachers, or if you can't afford tix, at least make the trip to Wrigleyville, it will be well worth your time!
