SantaCon: Chicago Description

SantaCon: Chicago - Conference / Convention | Holiday Event | Parade in Chicago.

SantaCon is an annual event in which hundreds of individuals dressed as Santa Claus gather to party in the streets of Chicago. Originally started in 1994 in San Francisco, the event now takes place in more than 35 countries.

Starting on a designated Saturday afternoon in December, parades of fully costumed Santas partake in a massive bar crawl lasting into the early hours of Sunday morning. The route is generally publicized a few days before the event, encompassing a number of iconic city landmarks and bars throughout the Loop and River North.

There are a number of ‘guidelines’ for SantaCon; for example, you must call everyone “Santa” and you must dress up as something holiday related.

There are no tickets for SantaCon – just make sure you wear a costume, bring enough cash for food and drinks, and follow the schedule!
