The First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre is one of the largest outdoor music venues in the Chicago area, and hosts big-name touring summer shows from across the globe.
The large-scale venue opened in 1990 as the World Music Theater and acquired its current name in 2006. The amphitheater holds nearly 30,000 fans, with 12,000 outdoor seats and an expansive lawn. There are also a variety of VIP seating options, from larger suites for up to 22 guests, including TV screens and catering, to box seats for up to eight with personal wait-staff and specialty parking.
Since Cher performed at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre’s inaugural show in 1990, the venue has played host to hundreds of big name artists from The Spice Girls and The Who in the 90s, to Kings of Leon, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, and dozens more since its renaming in 2006.
Although reserved seats at First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre can be somewhat pricey, lawn seats generally range from $15 to $30, making the venue a popular spot for high school and college students.
