Located on a stretch of Taylor Street that largely caters to students from nearby University of Illinois at Chicago, Vintage Lounge is an upscale but unpretentious bar offering diverse pub fare and a long list of cocktails.
Exposed brick, stained glass chandeliers, and high-backed chairs give a nod to the bar’s prohibition-era theme, as does the long mahogany bar where a casual early evening crowd of grad students and young professionals gathers to indulge in a few martini specials and nosh on Kobe burgers and signature donut holes.
Various theme nights, specials, and DJs take the vibe up a notch later on, especially on Thursdays for College Night when a young crowd shows up en-masse to get their weekend started early.
Fridays and Saturdays often see the open dance floor packed to capacity as DJs spin mostly Top 40 and mash-ups, although given past events like costume parties and an Elvis impersonator contest, revelers just might walk in on an unexpected party.
Quirky, classy, and with just the right touch of nostalgia, Vintage Lounge is sure to please any present-day patrons’ appetite.
