Party Earth Cuvée Review

The Scene

Accessed via a dark alley and an impenetrable doorman blocking the unmarked entrance, Cuvée is an upscale late-night lounge with a focus on champagne and pretty people.

Developed by the same group behind ultra-scenester club Enclave, the venue centers its single room around a cluster of VIP tables hemmed in by low walls filled with thousands of illuminated amber bubbles, a nod to the champagne every patron is drinking, be it straight from the bottle or mixed into a fresh-fruit cocktail.

Groups of cash-heavy young professionals and dolled-up girls in the latest designer wear congregate in the VIP area to lounge on tufted banquettes and indulge in exclusive bottle service, while the rest of the socialites mingle at the two long bars, peruse the glowing LED-lit menus, or check themselves out in the expanse of ceiling mirrors.

Although nightly DJs spin R&B and electronic club music, the sophisticated clientele is more about popping corks and dropping money than dancing to the thumping beats.

With its late-night hours and top-shelf drinks, Cuvée is perfect for putting the final cap on an extravagant Chicago night.

FAV late-night club in Chi
Alexis A. Jun 24, 2013
This is not only my favorite late-night club (open till 5AM on SAT), it is my favorite club in Chicago, period. Studio Paris is all the hype, but Cuvee beats Paris in my books because their music is more to my taste. CROWD: Same as Studio Paris except maybe slightly older. More sophisticated in my opinion, and possibly more international/European due to the music (more house than hip hop). It doesn't get as packed as Paris which is actually pretty good. DOOR POLICY: Serious double standards. Very tough for guys, possibly tougher than Paris, and on top of that if you don't have a table then it's $20 cover. Very easy for girls even if you're just average. My friends and I walk in right away no matter how many people there are waiting. There's usually not a huge pack of crowd waiting at the door because unlike Paris, if you're not getting in they will tell you directly, instead of telling you that "we're on hold, at capacity" or "just wait 15 minutes". MUSIC: As mentioned, much more house, some deep house even some times. AMBIANCE: Much darker, not club lights just beautiful chandeliers - the same one that Ph.D at the Dream Hotel in NYC has. Balcony for smokers and if you need air. In summary, I might be biased just because I've gone so often and now it feels like home, but I think that also attest to the quality of the place. It's certainly not as popular as Studio Paris, but after 2AM, it's either here or Board Room. If you like hip hop, you got o Board Room (1 block away), but if you like house more, this is THE place.
