Good Food Festival and Conference Description

For three days in March, foodies, locavores, and food activists unite at the annual Good Food Festival and Conference. Held each year at the UIC Forum in Chicago, the Good Food Festival and Conference features a wide range of activities including an expo, seminars, and tastings.

At the Good Food Financing Conference, activists and farmers unite to share better ways of making and distributing healthy food choices. The Exhibit Hall features goods from over 150 farms, restaurants, and local artisans. At Localicious, foodies can sample from some of the best restaurants and producers in the city. Past featured restaurants and artisans include Templeton Rye, Death’s Door Spirits, and Osteria Via Stato.

At the School Food Policy Summit, experts provide talks on how to provide better food to students. At the Festival, foodies can enjoy workshops with title like Home Cheesemaking, Grassroots Biodiversity, and Foraging Wild Edible Plants. Aspiring chefs can learn professional tips at demos. Past participating chefs include Paul Virant, Rick Bayless, and Carrie Nahabedian.
