Chicago Irish Film Festival Description

Chicago is home to a large, proud Irish-American community that has played a big role in shaping the history and culture of the Second City. Every year (since 2000) in March, Chicago’s Irish and the rest of its citizenry are invited to the Chicago Irish Film Festival to celebrate the best new film that the Emerald Isle has to offer.

The Chicago Irish Film Festival presents the best emerging and established Irish filmmakers and their documentaries, features, animation, and short films. Many documentaries tackle prevalent social issues, while features and shorts showcase the unrelenting charm and wit that characterize Irish narrative story telling.

Since its inception, the Chicago Irish Film Festival has introduced the world to filmmakers like Ken Wardrop, Juanita Wilson, Martin McDonagh, and Damien O’Donnell, among many other great talents.

Tickets for the Chicago Irish Film Festival start at $15 per individual screening and the event takes place at the Beverly Arts Center, in the heart of one of Chicago’s most Irish neighborhoods.
