Born in 1986 in New York City, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, otherwise known as Lady Gaga, is an American singer-songwriter who first achieved notoriety her debut album The Fame in 2008. The Fame sold over 12 million albums with the help of hit songs like “Just Dance” and “Poker Face”.
After The Fame and subsequent The Fame Ball Tour, Gaga released The Fame Monster featuring hit single “Bad Romance”. The album was an instant hit and Gaga quickly took over the music world selling out the biggest arenas and stadiums around the globe and piling up every music award along the way.
Lady Gaga has since released Born This Way (2011) with the eponymous hit single in addition to “Judas” and “The Edge of Glory”.
Lady Gaga is known for pushing the envelope both on and off the stage as she sings candidly about sex, drugs, homosexuality, and religion. She’s been a vocal advocate for the LGBT community in addition to supporting the fight against HIV and AIDS.
