Located in the West Loop, Chicago’s famed meatpacking district, The Mid is an upscale nightclub-meets-live music venue that draws music lovers from all areas of the city.

Despite its unconventional location, The Mid is one of Chicago’s hottest music venues. With a capacity of 801, the club draws fairly big-name acts while also providing an intimate live music experience. The Mid boasts three full-service bars, booths for sitting, plenty of dance space, a wraparound second-floor balcony, and a swanky VIP room.

While some club-hopping singles are seduced by the venue’s unique décor, from neon lights to exposed brick, deep brown couches and hardwood floors, most visitors to The Mid are drawn by the venue’s musical acts. World-class DJ acts at The Mid range from techno beats to eclectic hybrids such as Steve Aoki and DJs House Arrest.

Since opening in 2011, events at The Mid have been known for their late night reputation (it stays open until 4am), including after-parties for Chicago’s biggest music festival, Lollapalooza.

Aleksandra Prodan May 23, 2013 3.0 stars In the Mid you have the opportunity to enjoy music from artists who you wouldn't probably have the chance to meet in another places in Chicago! It's a cool place if you are a big fan of trans music, especially from European artists. I still cannot forget the Drum&Bass concert when I was dancing and jumping like crazy as it was my last time. I felt I would get the heart attack but couldn't stop dancing! The only thing I dislike about this place it's always packed!

Haley Davidson Feb 21, 2013 3.0 stars Great Venue for Smaller Concert Setting The Mid is a fabulous place if you are looking to enjoy a Dj without the huge crowds of a concert hall or larger venue. The artists that they house are always good and they do a wonderful job of bringing back the big names. it is a great place if you are looking to see one of your favorite house artists in a nightclub setting. Of course it can get a bit rowdy as any place hosting concerts can get, especially with the dance music that they offer. Drinks are a bit pricey but not anything out of the ordinary for downtown Chicago. Overall, the Mid offers a variety of club and concert variables, if you are someone who likes to go to concerts but also like the feel of being "out on the town," the Mid offers just the right mix.

Paige McMullen Feb 5, 2013 2.0 stars Sub-par venue but houses great artists I've been to The Mid a few times for different concerts, and there is nothing that really "wows" me about this venue. Its a fun atmosphere and very lively, especially if the artist playing there is upbeat and exciting. I like that it has three separate bars and booths for when jumping around gets old, but as for the 'VIP' room, nothing special. It tends to feel a bit crowded for my taste. Its a fun time if you like the artist and your with good friends, but nothing to write home about.

Jackie DeJesse Dec 4, 2012 1.0 stars The worst I really am not a fan of this club...They try to make it feel exclusive when there really isn't anything that appealing about the venue. First of all, it's a cab ride away from where most clubs are located in downtown and second of all, the cover can be pretty pricey - even for girls! They also charge for coat check, so sometimes it's best to go without. Drinks are also pricey and the bars are jam packed with people. I went on a Saturday and the ratio of men to women was probably 60/30 and the men were averaging early 30's. Everyone was rude there and no one was really dancing, more like jumping around on top of everyone. Ugh, just an awful awful experience, I'd recommend trying the other clubs that are more central to Chicago nightlife.
