Situated at the far end of an unremarkable parking lot, Enclave is a cavernous dance club where the only indication that something exists behind the unmarked door is the line of sexy twenty-somethings gazing hopefully at the stoic bouncers.
Well-dressed clubbers lucky enough to gain entrance to the 15,000-square foot venue are blasted with throbbing beats, flashing lights, and a sea of high-energy club-goers grinding to hip-hop and R&B remixes emanating from the prominent stage and DJ booth.
Two backlit bars provide plenty of space for trendy socialites to mingle over cocktails, while attractive groups of clubbers take over the elegant ottomans and leather banquettes along the periphery.
Rowdy bachelorette parties and affluent young professionals looking for more room to spread out usually head to the larger raised VIP tables where they can toast themselves with thousand-dollar bottle service.
Open only twice a week, the club makes the most of its parties by featuring guest DJs, contests, or appearances by reality TV stars or socialites, who pose for pictures with the crowd before joining the writhing throngs on the dance floor.
Those who need a break can head downstairs where a smaller, more relaxed room provides temporary relief from the sweaty revelry, and a third bar keeps parched partiers fueled for another round upstairs.
A den of uninhibited dancing, Enclave is a see-and-be-seen choice for clubbers looking to let loose and maybe party with a celeb or two.
Uninhibited, attractive, and trendy clubbers, socialites, and young professionals, early 20s to early 30s.
Nightly DJs and go-go dancers. Frequent special events and celebrity guest appearances. Check website for schedule.
No food. Table reservations can be made on venue’s website. Entry at doorman’s discretion.
Cover charge $20+, often waived for patrons on guest list prior to 11pm and for those with table reservations. Beer $5–$6, wine $6–$7, mixed drinks and cocktails $9–$14+, bottle service $260–$2,000+. Valet $12. Coat check $4.
Dressy: Button-downs, dress shoes, upscale club wear, slinky dresses, lots of designer labels. Dress code: no flip-flops, ball caps, or athletic shoes.
Although Saturdays tend to be wilder than Fridays, the scene can vary by event, and neither night heats up until after 11:30pm.
Funky Buddha Lounge (728 West Grand Avenue) offers another high-octane dance floor.
