Situated inside the massive 88,000-square-foot Flat Iron Arts Building, Debonair Social Club features a roster of rotating theme nights and performances that aim to blend art, music, and fashion.

Splashed in hot pink and electric blue lights, along with dizzying black and white stripes painted on most of the walls, the club draws a rambunctious crowd of rockers and ravers for DJs, live music, video art installations, and a very popular burlesque show.

Tattooed head-bangers and hipsters cheering to a favorite song and munching on pizza crowd around the ample bar that splits the main room, while trendy singles toast to a night of mayhem as projected video art washes over their roomy black vinyl booths.

Most of the action takes place around the modest stage that might feature bands like Disturbed and My Chemical Romance one night and then be transformed into a 60s motel room for the burlesque show the next night.

Weekends see the dark and spacious red basement open up to provide unrestricted dance space, where attractive hipsters and clubbers groove to a DJ before heading to the bar for a round of shots.

Upstairs or down, an energetic vibe and outgoing crowd ensure that a night at Debonair will definitely be a memorable social experience.

Could be a decent time..

I may have went on an off night so I can't fully comment on the crowd atmosphere, as it was less than packed. However, the staff was very friendly, and I did enjoy the beats the dj was spinning. I think it could be a decent time and might be more fun on a hopping evening. On a side note: I was a little off put by a giant, crushed cockroach I saw in the bathroom. But overall, I have to give a neutral review, as I did go on an off night.

This bar is one of my favorites. I had a distinct feel when I entered this club. You get that hipster chic feel and its one of the only bars in wicker park were you can dance on a stage and feel FLAWLESS. There are always special and the bartenders are AMAZING. I had a shot of whiskey and a beer for $5.....yes $5. I know. We are in Chicago. So after dancing on a stage, in a key hole cut out, enjoying my beer I can say that it was a great night. Bring singles to tip the bathroom attendant. I always feel awkward in situations when I don't have money. The attire is casual. You don't need a ball gown but my rule is someone always has a camera phone. Have Fun and always be FLAW FREE.
