Harkening back to the era of big hair, disco, and vinyl upholstery, the retro-themed Beauty Bar Chicago is the eighth permutation of the Beauty Bar franchise, known for combining a bar and club with the chance to get a manicure.

Multicolored bubble designs and teal walls set the tone in the front room, while funky furnishings salvaged from the Paris Salon of Beauty – a New Jersey parlor that closed its doors in 1967 – give the rest of the space a nostalgic yet upbeat glow.

Groups of single young ladies take over the turquoise couches and old-school hair-dryer chairs to await their daily $10 Martini & Manicure, while indie rockers, electro kids, and hip-hop enthusiasts gather around the back to fuel up on $4 vodka tonics before the DJ powers up in his bubble-shaped booth.

A sleek bar lined with retro white vinyl stools offers space for hipsters to chill out, while rowdier patrons flood the pink dance floor and document their antics in the nearby photo booth.
