Party Earth Review Immersed in the gritty, working-class neighborhood of Humboldt Park, Rootstock Wine & Beer Bar is a rare area outpost for carefully crafted organic dining and specialty drinks. Lounge / Wine Bar
Party Earth Review An offshoot of the adjoining Dunlay’s on Clark restaurant, D.O.C. Wine Bar is an oasis of civilized consumption in a neighborhood better known for its party-hardy post-college crowd. When people think of the Windy City, they think of great restaurants, great beer, and great sports, but with such a wide variety of wine bars in Chicago, people should really consider adding one more thing to the list.
Chicago wine bars can be found in nearly every neighborhood in town regardless of socioeconomic factors. Bottom line, if you like wine, you’ll find a great wine bar near you.
For starters, there’s Rootstock Wine & Beer Bar in Humboldt Park. This working class neighborhood joint pairs meat and cheese plates with great varietals and the menu elaborates on the history of each one in case you need to know the origins of your grapes.
Another great wine bar is D.O.C. in Lincoln Park. A loungy vibe presides at this intimate and upscale watering hole as charcuterie plates and aged grapey goodness are passed around the mismatched furniture. Also in Lincoln Park, Webster’s Wine Bar is a bookish lounge with budget-friendly wine flights and plenty of meats and cheeses to go right along with.
Wine bars abound in Chicago like In Fine Spirits in Andersonville amongst others, and if you’re looking for high-class sipping or just some out-of-this-world two-buck chuck, you’ll never have a problem finding the perfect wine bar for you.
