Inspired by a couple's trip to a wine bar in Spain – and their lassitude about remaining in the litigation world – Webster's Wine Bar is an unpretentious little venue that bottles up a whole world of wine.
Whether to vie for the budget-friendly flights, the featured wine, the informative classes, or just to lay waste to a brick of Bandaged Cheddar, guests settle in at romantic candlelit tables, ready to whet their appetites.
Muted brown walls hung with paintings by local artists and windows veiled with sweeping curtains create an intimate atmosphere, while a long wooden bar on one side of the room offers a cozy place for couples and chill friends to gather before catching a movie at the theater complex down the street.
A narrow staircase on the other side leads patrons up to another bar complete with a fireplace and several tables perfect for those in the mood for a private tasting.
Wine connoisseurs and wine wannabes alike make their way toward the back, where they can peruse the giant wooden cabinet full of esteemed grapey goodness before settling in at the tables or on the soft velvet couches to work their way through the 500+ varietals available.
Music Mondays host an ever-changing lineup of live acts, but even when there’s just the ambient mix off the sound system, the joint is loud with clinking glasses and lively conversation.
