A stone’s throw from the Zakim Bridge, TD Banknorth Garden is sacred ground for Boston sports. Home to the Celtics and the Bruins, the venue experiences a year-round influx of jersey-wearing fans, the only seasonal shift being whether they’re clad in green or yellow. The 19,600-seat arena, opened in 1995, stands ten stories high and houses three restaurants. Besides games, there are also concerts at TD Banknorth Garden – Aerosmith, Coldplay, and Jennifer Lopez are just a few of the performers who have rocked the stadium – as well as special events, such as Wrestlemania, the NCAA Women’s Final Four, and even the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Since the North Station Green Line stop is directly across the street, most city residents take the T. Besides being easier than finding parking, it also allows them to celebrate or drown their sorrows at the nearby bars after the game lets out. A word to the wise: get tickets early, because games at the TD Banknorth Garden often sell out.
