Alumni Stadium (Chestnut Hill, MA) Information

Alumni Stadium (Chestnut Hill, MA) - Stadium in Boston.

With sprawling trees and rolling hills, Chestnut Hill is one of prettiest sections of Boston’s outskirts, which makes seeing games at Boston College’s Alumni Stadium even more of a treat. Fans decked out in gold and maroon come out in droves to cheer on the Eagles, the college’s football team.

The original Boston College Alumni Stadium was constructed in 1915, with a seating capacity of 2,200, which actually proved to be too small for the surge in attendance, meaning that games were often relocated to Fenway Park. In 1957, the current Alumni Stadium was built, and the inaugural game was arranged by then-senator John F. Kennedy. The Boston College Alumni Stadium can now seat 44,500 diehard fans, all of whom can stay hydrated and fed at any of the many concession stands within the venue.

Parking at Boston College Alumni Stadium is usually reserved for season ticket holders, but there are a number of convenient satellite lots offering shuttle service to and from the stadium. Via public transportation, both the Boston College stop on the Green B line and the Chestnut Hill station on the C train are mere blocks away. The combination of the intense action on the field and the natural beauty of Chestnut Hill make Alumni Stadium one of the most distinctive sporting venues in Boston.

For Here All are One

For freshmen and seniors alike, there is perhaps nothing more exhilarating than the first football game of the season at BC's Alumni Stadium. Fans stand on the bleachers and scream the same cheers year after year, celebrating each touchdown by singing “For Boston.” Even when the team isn't winning, the student section is a roaring sea of gold in their traditional Superfan shirts while alumni continue to show their support years after they've graduated. Winning season or not, attending a game at Alumni Stadium will remind you just how powerful school spirit and college athletics can be.
When the weather is great, you can't miss this place.

BC's football stadium is gorgeous. When the place is packed, the lines will be ridiculous, so early arrival is a must. But you surely won't be making a mistake by heading to the stadium (regardless of the football team's season rankings...). The food is relatively cheap, and good quality for its price. During football season, the overall vibe of the stadium is buzzing with student excitement and reverie, amplified by a resounding and immense school spirit. Besides the lines and the rankings, the BC football stadium is one of the greatest.
